HOW TO MEET OUR PETS
Please contact us at PuppyPimps@gmail.com if you would like to set up an appointment to come meet one of our rescue pets. Our typical visiting hours are M-F from 6:00PM till 7:30PM and on weekends by appointment.
THE ADOPTION PROCESS
The first step of the adoption process is to make an appointment to come meet with our rescued pets at our facility which is located near downtown Fort Lauderdale.
During your initial visit, we will request for you to complete a brief one page application that will help us to learn more about your current living situation (own or rent), any other pets currently living in your home, and previous pet ownership experiences. Upon the conclusion of our initial visit, if everyone is in agreement that it seems like a good fit, we will move on to the next step of the adoption process which is a home visit.
During the home visit, we bring the dog with us to come visit your home. The purpose of the home visit is to observe any potential issues that may exist in your home so that we can address them together in order to determine if everything is in order for the adoption to take place.
The final step of the adoption process is completing the adoption agreement and to collect the required adoption donation.
Each dog that we take in requires an initial veterinary visit that costs a minimum of $100-$125. Many dogs also arrive at our facility with infections, injuries, and sicknesses that require additional medical attention, and of course, additional costs. Many also need to be spayed/neutered and microchipped.
After initial concerns are handled, caring for each dog costs about $100-$150 per month, and dogs can often remain with us for 6-9 months, and sometimes even more than a year, before finding their Forever Home.
We would never expect to recoup all of these costs through adoption fees, but we do rely partly on them in order to maintain a great standard of care for our dogs until they are adopted.
Our minimum adoption fee is $200 per dog, and any additional donation above and beyond this amount would be greatly appreciated. Your entire adoption fee and any additional donation are tax-deductible as per IRS regulations. We are recognized by the IRS a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.
